Dr Jehan Kanga is a multi-award winning scientist, Founder and CEO of Rux Energy, an advanced materials startup delivering breakthrough efficiency gains for dispatchable hydrogen storage, enabling step change efficiencies for heavy mobility, maritime, rail, road, energy distribution networks, and heavy industry, in partnership with the University of Sydney, UNSW, ANSTO and Cranfield University. Dr Kanga has set an ambitious goal for Rux to contribute directly to 50 million tonnes of carbon dioxide abatement by 2030.
Dr Kanga is leading bleeding-edge collaborative innovation in and development of end-to-end supply chain ecosystems in the UK and Australia, as founder of The FRESH Group for the supply of hydrogen in the Freeport East region of the UK, as chair of the Hydrogen Committee for the $250M SoMAC Cooperative Research Centre in Australia.
As a thought leader in accelerating hard-to-abate sector decarbonisation, they have presented at several global forums including the first Global Clean Energy Action Forum Pittsburgh as part of Team Australia alongside Australian Energy Minister Chir, and the World Future Energy Summit 2023 in Abu Dhabi at the invitation of the UAE government.
Dr Kanga recently also received the Products and Markets Award for Best Innovation at Hy-FCell Stuttgart, a leading hydrogen technology conference in Europe, was listed 40 under 40 Most Influential Asian Australians by Asialink 2019, and Young Professional of the Year 2021 by the India Australia Business Community Awards.
