STC CEO Pim van Baarsen and Marcus Trofimov, MD of network member Silverstone Composites, have been invited to speak at this spring’s Motorsport Club event in Modena, Italy.
The event on 3 May aims to aims to promote collaboration and knowledge exchange between Italy’s and the UK’s motorsport industries.
Pim will speak as part of the so-called Varano panel which will focus on leveraging motorsport expertise and aerospace and beyond. Marcus will appear on the Imola panel, focusing on cutting edge materials and production processes in motorsport.
Matteo Costariol of Motorsport Club promoter Global Marketing Architecture said the inclusion of industry experts like Pim and Marcus will help the event’s aims of bridging the gap between motorsport and aerospace, exploiting the unique strengths of each sector to drive technological advancements.
“We believe that Pim can bring deep expertise from motorsport, offering insights into how it intersects with aerospace,” commented Matteo.
“Marcus’s knowledge of composite materials sheds light on Silverstone Composites’ role in improving both motorsport and aerospace. His work highlights the need for innovative materials to create better performing designs.”
He added: “This collaboration reflects the commitment to driving innovation and fostering collaboration on a global scale, with the Silverstone Technology Cluster’s participation underscoring the significance of cross-industry cooperation in propelling technological progress.”
