Three Counties Regional Defence & Security Cluster

Description:

Recognising the concentration of tech and innovation-focussed defence and security SMEs in the Three Counties of Herefordshire, Worcestershire and Gloucestershire, the Three Counties Regional Defence & Security Cluster (3CRDSC) was initiated by Top 60 law firm Harrison Clark Rickerbys Ltd in 2014.

The aim of the Cluster is to raise the commercial and industrial capacity of the sector and region. The Cluster provides an industry-specific platform to connect SMEs and organisations in the innovation defence and security sector, providing an enhanced opportunity for business development, connections and conversations.

It also gives access to opportunities to collaborate in this niche and dynamic sector through partnerships and joint ventures for those that wish. To support this, each member is required to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement on application approval.

3CRDSC’s annual flagship event, the Specialist Defence & Security Convention UK (SDSC-UK) (formerly 3CDSE) was launched in 2017. Due largely to the event’s growth in both scale and reputation since that date, the 3CRDSC member-reach is national and its engagement-reach international.

SDSC-UK is a 2-day event, and welcomes UK and international military tech scouts and procurement teams such as UK MOD Special Projects DE&S, UK StratCom and US DOD DEVCOM, as well as Primes such as Ultra PCS, BAE Systems, Fortinet and Lockheed Martin.

Along with the networking opportunities afforded by minimum 2 further in-person events and a series of online seminars throughout the year, 3CRDSC members also benefit from access to wider business advice, such as Commercial, Legal, HR and Recruitment, Training, Finance, Intellectual property, Risk Assessment and Marketing.

3CRDSC and SDSC-UK are Silver Award holders of the Employer Recognition Scheme of the Armed Forces Covenant.
