Global Marketing Architecture, one of the foremost promoters of Italian motorsport, believes an STC-style organisation would benefit the sector’s productivity and prosperity in the country.
GMA founder Matteo Costariol commented: “We, Italy, are the second most active (motorsport) market in Europe and we at GMA believe that Italy does need an organisation like the STC.
“It doesn’t mean we don’t know how to deal and communicate with one another, but we need to learn how to do it better.”
GMA was one of 18 STC members to exhibit as part of the network’s Innovation Zone at the recent Advanced Engineering Show.
Matteo said: “This is what the STC can do for its members – bring them to bigger events and put them in front of a much bigger audience like here at Advanced Engineering.
“But it’s more than that. The STC also has its own events that enables the members to get together with other companies and organisations from marine, aerospace, defence and introduce them to companies from niche sectors.
“We don’t really have events like this for the motorsport companies in Italy, where we get to know one another and hear how we can be part of something bigger.”
Now GMA is inviting STC members to attend its ‘Motorsport Club’ event in May 2025, in the Emilia Romagna region of Italy – renowned for its own cluster of motorsport business activity.
Motorsport Club was founded by GMA in 2023 to help promote and strengthen relationships between Italian and British motorsport companies. 2024’s event’s saw the STC, plus members Dynisma and Silverstone Composites attend to give presentations.
Matteo added: “Italian companies liked the STC presence in 2024 and like British companies – after all, they have worked with them for more than 80 years, since Enzo Ferrari!
“We would welcome the STC members to this event – it means we are not invisible… the connection is different, you get a better feel for people and their companies, a different dynamic.
“We live in an increasingly digital world so meeting people face to face is king – and we Italians like to talk!”
