STC launches new Student Placement Service

Published On: 4 December 2024

We are delighted to announce the launch our Student Placement Service, the first initiative of our latest Skills Stream, which was first revealed at the 2023 Innovation & Growth conference (you can see that presentation here). To deliver this initiative, we have teamed up with STC Members Intake Talent, a specialist recruitment consultancy passionate about supporting the next generation of talent as they transition into the workplace.

Exclusive to STC Members, the Student Placement Service is a structured matchmaking service that connects students seeking placements, internships, apprenticeships, or T-Level projects with businesses. This initiative will provide our members with access to emerging talent from institutions such as Warwick University, The Open University, Silverstone UTC and more, while offering students the chance to gain real-world experience.

Thanks to funding from UK Government via West Northamptonshire Council and UKSPF, and the generous support from our friends at Jaltek and Easyfairs, we are able to offer this service for free to STC Members.

How does it work?

  • Outreach: Intake Talent will collaborate with educational institutions to identify students eager to gain industry experience.
  • Matching: We will work with you to understand your business needs and identify suitable students who match your requirements.
  • Placement Advertising: A dedicated section will be introduced on the STC website, where you can advertise available placement and internship opportunities.
  • Relationship Building: Intake Talent will actively engage with both educational providers and STC members to ensure alignment and support throughout the process.

Intake Talent will be managing the whole process on our behalf and will be reaching out to STC Members in due course to see who would like to get involved.

We look forward to working with our members on this exciting initiative.
