Trivial Benefits for Directors

Author: TC Group
Published On: 9 April 2025

Did you know…?

As a director you can claim up to £300 per tax year in non-cash trivial benefits. This £300 is tax deductible per director.

This includes store gift cards, hampers, wine or flowers.

Your company must have 5 or fewer shareholders to qualify, and the transactions must be no more than £50 each.

Example: 6 x £50 transactions in a tax year.

If a member of your family’s also an employee, they can have their own £300 exempt amount in non-cash trivial benefits. These also cannot be paid in cash.
