The red-letter day for RML’s Short Wheelbase team is almost here: with the first production car due for release from the Wellingborough factory in a matter of days, it’s set to be delivered to its proud owner in the next two weeks.
“This has been the culmination of four years’ intense planning, designing, engineering and testing,” said RML’s CEO, Michael Mallock. “But the end result has validated all that hard work, and we’re now looking forward to supporting our first RML Short Wheelbase owner, as well as the next 29 customers.”
The RML Short Wheelbase was first announced two years ago as a two-seat, high-performance GT, the design of its lightweight, carbon-composite body paying homage to supercars from the past, while offering 21st Century comfort, practicality and convenience.
Powered by a 5.5-litre Ferrari V12 engine, producing 479bhp, allied to a manual six-speed gearbox, the Short Wheelbase integrates a raft of discreet modern features which transform it into a fast and usable GT with classic lines, capable of swallowing large distances with a degree of comfort and convenience that would not have been dreamt of 60 years ago.
Production of the Short Wheelbases is well underway, and the cars are predicted to reach their new owners within the next few weeks.
